Hello,
I'm newly registred here but i come here a lot to read about herps. I have 2 snakes, a corn snake called Akasha and a ball python who dosn't have a name (yet) i keep trying to think of names but its not my strong point, i've only had him for two weeks it took me three months to decide on Akashas name.

Welcome to the forums. I dont have a set of naming conventions per se, I just name em whatever I think fits them the best. If you do a search on Google for "pet snake names" or "reptile names", you will find a ton of sites. Hopefully one will catch your eye.

I think Akasha is a really cool name!

a Russian naming scheme is that we use (mostly) russian names. We have boris & natasha, nadia, silnya (means strength, we gave that name to one of our burmese pythons), anastasia (one of the last Czar's daughters), Zameya (means snake), Rasputin, Ivan, Igor, tatianna, vlad, nikita, dimitri and others.

Welcome!! I agree on the name thing... it's sooooo hard to find the perfect name for your snakes. I have 6 snakes at the moment and all have been named after something totally different from the others. One even has the name of a pop star! I try to look for ideas and people's opinions all the time because it really helps in not picking out a lame, stupid name all the time... unless that's what you want ;). I'm now starting to lean towards names with meanings to them... ya know, give them a little more Umph! Anyway, good luck and I hope you enjoy sSnakeSs.com!!

Welcome to sSNAKESs and i hope that you will discover (like me) the useful family-like support for your herps, their needs and making you a better herper. As for the name i don't like naming my herps but i thought of some names that you may find interesting. Here there are:
Innociento, Davero, Ballisimo(from Ball python), Regotto
A bit Italian but they heard nice to my ear :) ~ take care
