There's a pet store near my place that has a few of these for, like 30-something bucks each...I was wondering if anyone has had experience with these, they look a little like tokays so, needless to say, I'm slightly concerned about the "bite-factor"...

hi i have 1.1 there bite is nothin to worry about just a slight pinch but they are very wiggly and are quite fast which makes them difficult for handling but make excellent display geckos climbing the glass and they have the ability to change colours from a dark brown and gray to a very light tan with faint markings and there CUTE!! but $30 is kinda steep i paid half that they are common i pet stores so if you really want some i would look around first IMHO.:D
I would have to agree with everything said by Jason EXCEPT that I don't think he is giving their bite enough credit.
I had one latch on to me...and it didn't just bite, it RIPPED. Seriously, like a dog ripping into something. Others I've talked to have reported the same thing with these guys. I bled through about five bandages, and had to explain to everyone I got the wound in a battle with a 9" gecko.....and that I lost.

I figured they might be bitey, but they are just hilarious (and cute!) there was this one in the tank that was getting so excited because he saw a cricket jumping around the leopard gecko tank beside him.
They are a fun gecko! Intelligent, alert and active. But there is NOTHING they hate more then being restrained. I learned that...he he he
