Hehe, if my IJ eggs hatch and sell, I'm going to treat myself to either a pair of stunning ATBs, or an ETB, but I'm having trouble deciding! What do you all think?

Thanks

There is a debate over this... but seeing as how you are an experienced arboreal keeper, I would say go with whichever interests you the most. CB ETBs are fairly expensive, but are a much safer route. Go that way if you can if you decide on an ETB. :) Just be aware that they are not as forgiving as husbandry mistakes or glitches as ATBs are.

ETB if you can. But some of the red ATB's are a good runner up so I voted either!

I say ATB, much more variation in colour, makes 'em more interesting, to me, anyway...emmies are all just green, and more green...and also, green.

I would go atb just for some experiance with tree boa's unless you want to start out with a etb go ahead you can handle it with some good research

I agree totally. ETB's are a dream snake of mine, but after talking to Darren Hamill and reading the corallus.com forums I decided train with ATB, then get ETB's. At least you can handle an ATB, ETB's are really hands off snakes.

Speaking of which, Vanan gave me an ATB today!!! Wooo!!! Orange and yellow with black speckles.

I so agree with rattekonigin. ETBs are just green. And so many people have them now you would expect something other than green but not all snakes are totally variable I guess. I would rather just look at a friends myself. Not really a fan of them.

I personally would purchase an ATB either way. But I would wait, and go all out and get patternless ones, or even a calicio ATB. They are *stunning* I love them. Not to mention the ease of care of CB, and the "surprise" you can get when they breed. I just feel they are way more variable, interesting and challenging from a color standpoint then ETBs.

But both are amazing creatures.

It's not only the color that matters. To me it's the least that matters. First i want to be sure that if i am going to buy a reptile, i must know how to proper care for it. ETBs are far more interesting as snakes to me, but because i never had a rainforest arboreal snake i would go for an ATB. Weight your herp knowledge and decide. Also ETBs are hardy snakes. ATBs have many regurg problems. If money is not an issue and you decide that you have the Xperience to own an ETB then go for it. First of all think not only "what do you want", but, if "you can want it". I don't know if you understand me.
