Hey guys. I currently switched my Leo's substrate to paper towel, no matter what I do the crix always find a way inder it or somewhere where she cant get 'em. How can I prevent this? Thanks all.

You can't prevent the crickets from hiding. Only feed enough that your geckos will take right away is about all you can do.

Maybe switch them to a substrate that they can't hide under...

I have an idea. In my big tank I have a substerate of ceramic tiles. It looks great! Basically, all I did was go to Home depot, confuse the guys in the flooring dept, wash them well before putting them in, and Voila! Nifty flooring! Nice to look at! Easy to clean! And bugs can't get under them!!

Put you leo in another tank or bin while you feed him. If this does not work I really can't say what to do.

Here's a thought :) Maybe not a good one, but what works for me.

I put a TINY coconut shell in the leo's tank and the crickets hide in there and come out when they want for a carrot in the corner of the tank...and WHAMMY!

I did that on papertowel too, although using calcisand now.

you could also use linolium or hand feed

Well, shes a shy feeder sometimes (but in good health) and takes about 3-4 right when I drop them in, they usually disappear during the night. But with the carrot thing, the leo wont eat it or anything? Thats a good idea, I was thinking about putting gut-loading in there for Cricket food but I was afraid my leo might eat it.
