Silk worms are very good for your lizards and other critters that like to eat crickets.. Its a great treat or other food source, they are soft bodied unlike the meal worm that has a hard body.. They get good size and i have noticed my T's like them as well.. You can find them here at this link.. My plated lizard and frogs just love these worms.. If ya get the chance try them out.. The other thing i realized is they are not to cheap.. :( But there worth it..

Silkworms are also very high in calcium. Mulberry leaves are also high in calcium, their primary food. See the connection? lol

I've tried silkworms for my leopard gecko and the first time I brought them home she absolutely loved them and gobbled them up when offered. But when I bought them a second time she didn't want anything to do with them??? She's done that to me with other food types as well but hasn't taken anymore silkworms...

I was thinking of offering some to my T's but wondered if they would move around enough to attract attention. I will give it a try though :) Any particular tips on feeding silkworms to tarantulas?

Thanks for the info. If I ever get a reptile that eats them I will try that.

Silk worms are a great source of nutrition and are very easily digested, they are ideal for fussy and/or sickly eaters.
But the problem is they are just to damn expensive especially when you have over 40 mouths to feed
(did you hear that mulberry farms (you prices are to high!))

 Your not kidding there prices are high, there is other places that has them and il have to check out some other sources to.. see what i can come up with on those.. And Pixie the best way to introduce them to a T is wait till the T has been hungry for few then pop one small one in and see what happens.. I would try to get it as close to the T as possible when ya drop it in.. Most my T's just snatch them right up,, They love um!!!!:D

I love feeding silkworms to my kids. They are great for my frog especially because they aren't overly mobile, he has trouble catching crickets or anything fast like that. My geckos all love them as well. I would feed em to my spiny mice, I'm sure they would love them, but they are just so pricey. Another downfall to them is maintaining them for periods of time. Not only do they have a specialized diet of mulberry leaves, but they turn into moths  I usually pick up a few lots at every show :)
