This is Arch-nemesis, the orange banded machine that produced a beautiful litter of eleven last October, and came out looking like she was properly fattened for the coming breeding season. This year she's plugged into a garden phase male- possibly producing less attractive offspring to the consumer's eye, but i'm completely fascinated by Amazon genetics. Very interested in figuring it all out. Ideally she'll be paired with a different male every season in hopes of proving out some hunches.
If you look closely at this pic, you can see that she's already ovulating, even as she's being bred.
