I was wondering if anybody out there has any experience with hova-bator incubator with the turbo fan. I just recently purchased one and on the incubator there is a warning sticker that indicate that all eggs should be incubated at 99.5F . I assumed they talking about bird eggs since there is no mention about reptile eggs. To make a long story short I incubated some leo eggs at 84F and they went bad on me can anyone help!!

I heard that with the turbo fan you can dry out your eggs a lot easier, but I have never used one, so I don't know from experience, just what I heard.

The Hova-Bator model with the fan is useless for incubating most herp eggs, since the fan isn't activated until temperatures around ~99 degrees, and most (if not all) herp eggs are incubated at temperatures much lower than that. Also, you have to be careful, as the fan can really be drying, interfering with the humidity levels in the incubator.

Were the leo eggs fertile? What medium did you use? How were the humidity levels? What happened (did they wrinkle, did they get moldy, did the deflate...)? 84 degrees is about the middle range for incubating leo eggs, so the temp wasn't the culprit. I believe they were fertile and the eggs were moldy as for the humidity levels I had a small pot of water in the incubator that took about 5 to 7 days to evaporate

I bought the hovabator without the turbo, and it seems to be working just fine. Was this your leo's first clutch? Usually, a leo's first clutch is un-viable. 84 degrees is close to ideal, so I agree, it wasn't the temps. What did you use as a medium? I use a 50/50 mix of water/vermiculite. I think it will work fine.

I used a slightly moisten vermiculite medium and it was my leo's first clutch so that may explain everything. Thanks everybody for your help.
