Here upon request, are some pics of my silly looking "mock hairless" rat. I have two of these guys so far, but this female shows the trait best so far, the other is mostly just thinng alot still. Wonder how much they will actually lose? Only time will tell...

umm are they suppose to do that? Or is it a mite or allegery or something. My moms MinPin looses its hair because of allergies like that.

It's a genetics thing. These are resulting from rex x rex breeding resulting in double rex a.k.a. "mock hairless" rats. Nothing to worry about, just a lil strange lookin...lol :p

Are they rex coated rats? If not then I would definitely worry about mites or allergies.

LOL... yup, this post being quite old, the little guy pictured grew into a large rat and made for a good meal ;)

I was in a pet store here in town and saw rats just like this, at least I hope they were double rex and not just mangy
