Nice pic!!! How long did it take your T to finish her meal? Some eat quicker than others, mine likes to take her merry time!!!

i figured that, i dont know how often spiders eat dead???, my skeleton will only eat live as well....anyways, thanks for the info

The trick to feeding dead prey to fussy tarantulas is all in the presentation... most if not all spiders will eat dead prey. I have gotten my spiders to eat all kinds of different things... from chicken strips to small chunks of beef to goldfish.

Try dropping the prey item about 2 or 3 inches in front of the spider's palps. I bet you see the spider pounce on it! I will try and record some video footage of mine in the near future.

Feeding anything live that is much past the pinky stage is risky business though... mice can easily take off a leg with a bite and you will have an injured spider on your hands. I am not a bleeding heart that is against feeding live... but when I am dealing with a very expensive specimen I tend to air on the side of caution.
