hello,

I wanted to know when is the breeding season for leos (from what month to what month).

If I put my female with my male in June (she will be 1 year old) will she lay a few eggs?

Thank you!

Breeding season is about November to March. She may lay in June, but she probably won't. Why not let her get bigger for a few extra months, and then breed her? :]

if the BREEDING season STARTS in november why are we only starting to see babies in march?

If you place 2 leos together in november, then the eggs will obviously hatch earlier than march. Many breeders start later in the year, some earlier clutches don't make it, some eggs take longer... etc all these are reasons for eggs to be hatching in march, as opposed to in January or February.
The range I gave you was fairly wide. A "breeding season" does not consist of an EXACT number of days in which each and every leopard gecko on earth copulates, lays, and the eggs hatch.

No need to capitalize, I can read.

Back in the day when I had them, I would hatch eggs 12 months of the year. 1 male for every 8 females. The things bred like flies. Seriously.

Hello! Julie B. here. My leos begin breeding in feb. all the way till sept. You should be able to get a clutch of eggs every 3-4 weeks. My healthiest female lays about every 19-22 days! Good luck!

I'll give you an update in may when I get her! :)

I agree with Jeff. There is a natural breeding season, as with most animals, however in captivity leos will breed and produce viable clutches year round given the adequate conditions.

what do you meen "given the adequate conditions"? do you have to cool them in june if you want to have them breed at that time?

Our breeding season usually starts in January, the females will just start to lay eggs. We dont turn off heat or give any changes in light cycles. They just start to lay. They will usually stop around late summer August or September.

I still think you could get a couple of clutches if you put them together in June. Good luck.

If you introduce a female to an adult mature male, you will get eggs. It may take a couple of months but bottom line is it doesnt matter to these guys what the date is.

You've got to quarantine new reptiles for a couple months before putting them with existing reptiles. She could be carrying a parasite and transmit it to the male.
