Most I have spent is $2,000 CDN. Most I have seen is $65,000 US, it was a male Bumble Bee BP. I'm sure the Killer Bee and Albino Spider will have a higher price tag. It was rumored that Pete Kahl spent more than $125,000 US for his Leusistic BP.

125,000! lol thats crazy. thats enough to buy a house or 6250 corn snakes. the most costly snake i have seen is a 2 headed texas rat snake that costed $7000 CDN which is a little much because they rarley live.

The most I have ever paid was $75 USD for my bc occidentalis. Actually he is the ONLY one that I paid for. Out of 12 snakes, that is not too bad. The others were gifts, adoptions or rescues :p

The most expensive I have seen would be the leucistic v niloticus for a cool million USD. :jawdrop:

lol you would have to be CRAZY to pay that for a lizard. lol you would be better off buying twenty thousand of them and breed them all. your bound to come across a oddity sooner or later. lol I would just stick with my million and retire.

JD, as Xetox said, this nile monitor is the ONLY Leucy to exist. That is why it is priced so outrageously.

$40 US for my Mexican black kingsnake and worth 100 times that to me!

Since I run a rescue I don't have the budget to spend on my own pets but there are lots of inexpensive herps to love out there.

I saw 1million$ for a leucistic nile monitor, but I guess the price went down :]

Since there seems to be contention with linking anything to that "other" forum, why not use this link:

The most money I have spent on ANY of my herps is $10. I have only adopted animals that were in need of a new home or rescue.

I once saw a hypomelanistic brazilian rainbow boa for $500, I couldn't fathom it. Looked totally normal to me.

Wow you people have seen crazy prices. i am sorry. there is no animal that i would pay 1,000,000. except a T-rex or tazmanian tiger which are long gone.

I wouldn't be too sure of that JD! They're actually attempting to bring back the Tazmanian tiger , and have had promising signs already. It's being done in New Zeleand, I believe!! So start saving up those pesos, they should be available in no time ;)

Most for a single animal was $700 for albino granite burm. (well, at least reptile wise, that is the most for one animal)

reptilesalonica
03-26-03, 07:13 PM
Well, the most i have paid as for herps speaking is the loss of my 2 baby balls,1 baby bci,1 leucistic rat. These losses cannot payback:(... Also with 30 herps "on my back" and their food (rodents-insects), i "pay" every day. But this is a sweet payment! I think the only one that is sweet when you talk about payment lol
