I'm just wondering on how I can build an aquaterrarium big enough for Bandit(7 foot redtailed boa),but cheap enough too. I want it that I can get into it with her and we won't be crowding each other. Does anyone have any idea?
I just want to check to see if I read your post right, you want an enclosure big enough for your snake and you?!!! Interesting way to keep an eye on your pet!!! LOL! Sorry, on a first read, it was a bit funny :)
I would post this question in the "General enclosure" forum, you have much better chances of getting this question answered there. I wish I could help you but I am no Norm Abraham so you'll have to wait for some good advice from others!
Good luck,

Um...and aquaterarium? Boas aren't aquaqtic, you know. And what the heck is adive?? I'm not trying to be mean here, but I'll help you when you learn to express your thoughts more clearly (and after you have done some research on boas, for that matter)

Jeesh where did that come from? Prozak anyone I got a new bottle sitting right here ;)
Yeah go to the "General Enclosure" Forum youll get some good ideas there.
Oh and welcome to the forums ;)
You'll need something 5.5ftH, 4ftW and 3ftD, at least. Melamine or pressboard is cheap, but make sure it's strong enough.
Also, sheesh she was just asking a question. "adive" was advice, as if you didn't know. It was just a typo, everyone makes them on occaision.
Well I would not share an enclosure with a 7 foot red tail (danger Will Robinson danger)I would though share a living room or some other large open area with one.Yes I do keep boas (I have a male that recently broke 1/8" thick lexan cause he wanted to)
So I do respect the power that these creatures have I know it's only "7 feet long " 5 bad minuets for a constrictor can mean a life time of bad minuets for your family.Well you asked

I'm not sure if she means to live with the boa, or just be able to fit in the cage to clean it or something.
Anyway, I certainly hope not live with it! My friend used to let his 8ft boa roam free in his room, and he'd often wake up with it losely wrapped around him... imagine what'd happen in a smaller cage. Same reason you wouldn't want to sleep in a horse's stall... just because their knees usually lock at night, it doesn't mean they wont step or crap on you. A snake will pose a danger to you.
One idea is to use a walk-in closet if you have one to give up.
i have done that before, worked very well. (the closet)

Man,I spell afew words wrong it seems like I've done the worse thing in the world!! Like ZoeStevens said:everyone makes mistakes.
I'm not gonna live in the tank with my snake!! I just want it big enough that I can get in there to clean it and stuff.Plus I want to beable to sit in there with Bandit once in awhile. I know alot of yous are thinking that I'm crazy for wanting to get in the tank with a 7 foot snake but I've been in the tank that she's in now and she comes right over to me and wants to be held and stuff. Believe it or not,Bandit wants alot of love (because of her last owner) and she knows that I can give it to her. I'm the only one in the house that can actually hold her, everyone else can only pet her. I all or some of you think that I'm weird or whatever because I love and care about my snake so much, well I guess that's your problem because she has really help me through certain things in my life that I'll do almost anything to make her comfortable and healthy!!
I want to thank ZoeSteven for the help on a tank for Bandit.
Metalgirl: I'm sorry if you took my post the wrong way, it was only meant to poke a little fun. I was pretty sure you didn't mean that you wanted to live in your snake's enclosure, it was just a little funny to me the way you worded your post. The first image I got was a big terrarium with a girl and a snake in it :D!
By all means, there is nothing wrong with getting in your snake's enclosure to cuddle with him. I would just be a little careful with a large snake in such closed quarters but I'm sure you take the necessary precautions already.

well to each there own I have always said I just hope you have enough respect for the power that your snake posesses I would hate to see either of you injured. And it's unfortinuate but it is always the "tame snake" that injures or kills it's keeper, because we loose respect for the awesome strength and speed that these wonderfull creatures have. I have been keeping boas for a fair length of time and I am a big strong guy and when a 7 foot boa wraps around me and does not want to let go I can not physically make it if it does not want to.It's your deal not mine I hope it works out for you.
I couldn't agree more with what you said hip. Although it would be nice, it is not very safe IMHO to be hanging out in a confined area with a large snake. Should anything initiate a feeding response in the snake it could prove fatal. No matter how "tame" the snake is, it is still driven by instinct, and accidents can and will happen when this is forgotten...
