Here are some pics that scared me a bit, but then amazed me. He has to be at least two times thicker than the space between each bar, and he slipped through!!!!

Snakes are known for their ability for fitting through tiny spaces. heck, they dislocate bones and push organs aside to eat.

Quick story: My wife has a very expensive sofa. Marius slipped in it one day and I could not get him out. Luckily, she was gone at the time. I whip out the knife and remove the felt from the bottom. No Marius... I start to sweat. She will be back any minute! She walks in literally as I have the hammer ready to dislocate a 2 X 4 on the bottom. She goes nuts. I mean nuts. I insist that I can't just leave Marius in the sofa and she says "It's just a damn SNAKE". I said "It would be different if you were stuck in there!" Well, she takes over and sticks her arm in the back of the sofa to rescue my "Damn Snake". .... Wait for it.... Yep, SHE GETS HER ARM STUCK!! ROTFLMAO For 15 minutes, she wiggles and wiggles and can't get un-stuck. The Lasher (I enjoy talking of myself in the 3rd person) goes and gets the hammer again, destroys the sofa, and get's the wife's arm un-stuck. She then asys " I DON"T CARE WHAT YOU DO, GET THAT DAMN SNAKE OUT OF MY COUCH". I cut a 3 inch hole in the fabric and Marius crawls out. I swear to God this is true. It was one of the funniest things that has ever happend to me... until I have to rebuild the sofa. Sorry for the double post that is about to happen, but I have to put this in the general forum.

hey, that is horrible. The way your wife reacted sounds JUST like how my mom reacted when she found out my snake was loose!!!!!!! Not stuck somewhere, just loose! And to make matters worse, guess where he was? In her walk in closet under here drawers. She flipped. Lets just say if i wasnt there i think i may be down 1 snake right now.

Hey snakeman87 it has ben a few monts since i saw any recent pic'S of zuse he must be growing nicly do you have any recent pic's for us to see the progres you know we have seen all the baby pic's but things must be geting intersting at home so how big is he now.

snakemann87
05-02-03, 01:25 PM
Yeah hes getting big. He's 7 months old now, when I got him he was 4 months and about 2 1/2ft. Now he's about 3ft 10'' or more, not quite 4ft. Is that small?? I feed him 1 appropriately sized food item every sunday, as with my other 2. Should he be fed more??? I'm just curious. Oh and I'll get some pics up by tonight, I promise.

cool, no hes not small. It is doing fine I would personally feed it a bit more just for the fact that I like watching them eat but I would be told that I was power feeding it.

Just do things at your own discretion. If you see room for another prey try it, the worst thing that will hapen is that he will not eat it and you will have to freeze it.

My female boa can eat one large rat and one juvenile. I dont force it down her throat but if I see that she would be able to take it down I try. I have also seen her only take one juvenile 2 weeks later and after that she would take her 2 rats again.

My snakes are offered food every week some weeks more than others. It depends on what they take, i feed them till they stop eating and sometimes the following week they choose not to eat and im not worried cause they had a good meal.

EXAMPLE: If i give you three hamburgers and your full after three youre not gonna eat a fourth one.

I just keep them well fed. Its all one big judgement call.

Ok, well if I were to feed until hes full I'd have a big burm very fast. My burm is a pig. I had the rats sitting out and the three feed boxes, and didnt put a book on the one and he snuck out and grabbed another. So i willl just offer 1 maybe 2. Thanks
