This is a really nice colored little snake. Should be very nice as adult too. Heterozygous for axanthic and possible 2x het/ ghost, so we'll just wait and see.

I really like the colours in the snakes, the orange spots make it freaky to look at.

Looks real nice ;) . I have a question though. The adults are so much different looking, what do you look for in a neonate to know what the adults are going to look like? (besides the genetics)

As you know, most of the red will lighten up or go away alltogether. I look for early lightening between the bands as an indicator that the snake will be brighter as an adult. I like a high number of bright, distinguishable crossbands (the more the better to me) with as few broken ones as possible. There are a few on both of these guys. Also as in the first when compared to the 2nd, the "black" is already lighter. As a rule these guys will not get darker, so you have an idea which ones will be what you're looking for.

here's an older one. Although he's in his pre-shed you can see the over all lightening. This particular snake has retained a lot of his juvenile colors.
Very nice, you wouldn't happen to have a full string of pics showing the the color change from hatchling to adulthood, would ya? :D
wow they look like some sort of candy bar

Hey Mark! Question for you. Ever noticed that there's a tendency for male brooksi to be lighter than females? Whaddya think about that?

..I'm not sure I've noticed any correlation in sex and colors in Brook's. There may very well be, I just have not paid that much attention I guess. I'll have to start looking more closely. In this pic are two different snakes.
Thanks again Mark, It just amazes me how much they do change growing up. :D
I like the change they undergo. It is very interesting to me.

Great pics Mark! Of my two, the female is getting lighter much faster than the male.
Mark, do you have any pics of a ghost brooksi?
