There is a whole bunch of reasons Burmies. Bites and possibly death of the snake. Even pre-killed offers risks. Rodents may harbor parasites which can and will make the snake very sick and possibly kill it. Freezing kills off the parasites and dead food can't bite...well 99.9% of the time, anyway :p

the best way that I know of is to kill the pray animal and then (with tongs ) put the animal in front of the snake. The mouse/rat will still be warm and fresh and,maybe still moving. You can jiggil it a bit to. You may have to try this a few times to get the animal to take the pray animal.
I have found that most snakes will take the new item in a short time frame.
If the snake dose not take the food give it what it would normaly take. then skip a meal then try it again,and keep doing so till the snake starts to eat f/t.
