Iraq... whats your take?

What do you think about America going to war with Iraq? You for it? Against it? Any thoughts?

Would you be against a war in Iraq to rid it of Saddam if it was another country going to war against Iraq (like Kuwait) instead of America?

I think a major reason I am against war in Iraq is because it is the USA who is going to war... don't trust what that government tells us... it has been caught in lies in the past. I think it only has it's own interests in mind and the welfare of the Iraqi people is just an excuse.

I think they are trying to merge the Iraq issue and the 9/11 issue into one when it is 2 completely seperate things.

Personally I do not wan't to see a war but the issue of Canada not backing the U.S is a big mistake cause in the long term trading may be affected cause of this decision. Also Canada has basically been protected by the U.S for years and they are our closest allies so when freinds go to war we should back them no matter what.

People are being arrested for protesting in toledo so i cant protest anymore. Isnt that mean? I'm sure we will go to war. I live by a nuclear powewr plant and recently went out and bought a gun justv in case. Its scary but i have no say in the government so i have to go with it. :sigh:

Yeah Bush is very transparent in my opinion. That false look of concern doesn't fool me... well I don't believe at all the concern is for the Iraqi people.

Saddam has never posed a threat to the US. He may be a tyrant to his own people. I just find it so amazing that they consider oil rich Iraq to be such a threat when North Korea is basically jumping up and down shouting "we got nukes!". Pakistan has nukes and so does India. Pakistan contains more of the radical extremist muslim element than Iraq. Osama and Saddam are on opposite ends of the spectrum... both complete a-holes mind you! :)

"Weapons of mass destruction"... now that is an interesting term. I would say that sanctions on the Iraqi people is a weapon of mass destruction.

Which is the only country to use the ultimate weapon of mass destruction? Dropping nukes on innocent Japanese civilians... was that not one of the greatest acts of terrorism in our history? Purposly targetting civilians of a country to get at the government. I hear the excuse that it was to end the second world war.. hmmm... nice excuse. Japan attacks a US naval base so the US throws a couple of nukes on major civilian centres... sounds fair doesn't it?

We get a very one sided story on CNN and through the American media. I think people have just gotten a little bit smarter and the simpleton antics of the American president can be easily laughed at. "Axis of Evil?"... what is this... a bloody Star Wars movie!?

Saying all this I'm not anti american and pro arab or anything like that. The Arab/Muslim world has its own share of problems and issues that they need to sort out.

Everytime CNN shows that STUPID "terror alert" graph showing the "terror status level" in the USA I get embarassed to be an American. Its so cheesy, so stupid, and so transparent.

Anyways, for people who want some real news check out BBC. I find them to be more impartial than CNN. Although underground papers are the best.

Yeah,i know what you mean baz. This world is slowly turning to a darker era. We dont need to kill people no mattrer how much we hate them. I think we never should of dropped the atomics on heiroshema and the other one er.....(i dont kknow the other cities name i wasnt really in to social studies)well, i think some things you said were TOTALLY right.

Hey guys, I am closing this thread, Baz you registered recently but we have had 5 or so threads shut down already that had the topic of war and we came to the conclusion not to allow them on the forums anymore because it is a VERY opinionated subject and it always ends in drama! :) Sorry for any inconveniences :)
