For some reason I found that disturbing! I always thought of them as harmless, happy little lizards that eat bugs. Who knew they had a dark carnivorous side....................I think I like them better now.-Tim

Caution Caution Caution
For anyone here getting the idea of feeding pinkie mice to your chameleon, DON'T DO IT. This is a practice that is frowned upon, by serious chameleon keepers. Mice are not a good food for chameleons. Some people who are lucky enough to have a parson chameleon which is huge, may feed this type of pray as well as small birds. Varity is good in the diet, but mice should not be included in the verity. If you want to treat them offer some roaches, silkworms, hornworms, supperworms, but NOT MICE. Mice are a HIGH fat/protein pray, and contain bones, which are close to impossible for a chameleon to break down. Allot of books say it is okay to feed this type of item, but they are outdated. If you must feed your chameleon a pinkie, it should be done no MORE then once every month, and your chameleon should be in excellent health, well hydrated. I am sure this is hard on the chameleons liver, and can even cause blockage, especially in females, and shortens a chameleons life. Also depending on the source of the mouse, it can contain bad bacteria in the stomach, and even possible parasites. I would not and will not risk my chameleons health for the frill of seeing a chameleon eat a mouse, to many negatives from feeding mice then there is positive. Just my opinion!
