Hi,
I dug out this old photograph of one of my arowanas, actually the last one I owned. I got him when he was about four inches. In this pic he was 14 inches in length.
When I eventually sold him and my other fish, he was well over 36" and a real stunner! I practically had to "wrestle" him out of his tank and into a bag.
He had some really great pink and orange colouration in his fins which I think shows up fairly well, even in this poor photo.
I really like the Silver Arowana. In my humble opinion, they are more elegant than the more "chunky" Asian species (but don't get me wrong, I love the Asian ones as well!).
I'm seriously thinking about setting up a new tank for a nice silver arowana, just for old time's sake.
Thanks for looking
Here's "Bart" at 14 inches, around 1992-3.
