u have to get the ears cropped( an operation) at about 9- 12 weeks and champagne is only 7 wks

yep shes far too little to get them done yet, should be at least 12 weeks before they are done. Its the tails that are done when they are really little, 2-3 days old

There are pros and cons on doing the ear and same with leaving them down. She will probably get them done.

I personally like boxers much more with their ears the way they are naturally, it gives them a softer look instead of looking mean.

Rebecca: Puppies are just like humans and are funny looking when very young. I've seen a lot of babies with really funny shaped heads but they always grow out normally, same with other animals. Some dogs, especially larger breeds have the funniest growth spurts and look really goofy, big head / little body, etc... I'll post a pic of my first dog which was a rott, I have a pic where he's about 5 months and looks so goofy and out of proportion it's hilarious! But he turned out gorgeous :)

Please don't crop his ears!!! I know all about the ear issues, and Boxers are rarely a problem if you clean them out once or twice a week. There is anough space for air to get in that ear infections shouldn't be a problem. I just can't stand the thought of chopping off a puppy's tail or ears, it's so needlessly cruel:(...

Cute little guy. Love the ears, though i can understand why people would have them cropped.

For show. I think, and I repeat I THINK that show boxers all have to have cropped ears. I don't think it's looks very good, though... They are much cuter with the little flappy ones, hehe.

Show Boxers no longer *have* to have cropped ears. In fact, tail docking and ear cropping is illegal in the UK now (at least, you can't show a dog that's docked and cropped, and I'm pretty sure it's illegal for the general public, too.)

awww! such a cute puppy!

Pixie - I know what you mean about weird growth spurts in large dogs! We used to have a bullmastif - when he was a baby his feet and head made up most of his body... heheh ^^ but he grew into them later.
