Crested geckos are typically easily handled. Some babies can be rather nervous, but over a very small amount of time, that nervousness will fade away. Juveniles and adults tend to be passive and kind of clumsy if they attempt to jump away on ya.
Very simple geckos to work with. If you can, purchase the Reptiles Annual magazine, which features a very in depth article about Crested gecko care and breeding, but disregard the photo of the blue phase crested gecko, as we have figured out that this doesn't actually exist, and from what a number of other members hear have informed me, the blue tinge was actually created when the flash went off taking the picture. Other than that, the article I speak of is solid.

Katatonic, do you actually have any cresteds? I don't mean anything by that... i'm just curious because the way you go on with heather and kate, it sounds like you mock the species. I could just be taking my impression the wrong way....
I have 2 crested gekos. Very sweet and easy to handle. Easy to care for too.
Blink182, that is the sort of information you should know BEFORE purchasing a new species... you should read everything you can find on the subject of cresteds, and most say the same thing : while babies can be nervous and jumpy, with frequent and gentle handing they can become calm adults. Some, however, will always be nervous and flighty, and care should be taken to always be gentle, never chase them around the cage or grab them by the tail.
Goodluck, what colours are you getting?

Yes ladies and gentlemen, I do own cresteds.
Jacenta, see your PM courtesy of myself for a more detailed response.
I mock purely out of fun. ;) No offense intended.

Heheehee WHAT? I don't see the fun in mocking me??? Wait... yes I do... SIGH! Oh well your mocking has good justification, Kat..
