View Full Version : Width of snake width of mouse?
Hey,
you guys know that rule that says don't feed food items that are thicker than the thickest part of your snake? something like that. If my snake at the thickest point is 0.6 cm(nearly a cm) and the fuzzy I'm goin to feed it is 1.5 cm is that to big?

id say so....especially since it sounds like a young cornsnake or something like that....stick to a smaller pink for now/..
thats what I said to but I couldn't find any pinkies so I feed it that and OMG he took it! He's on 2 now weird eh? guess it never hurts to try
In most cases, snakes can swallow prey that is MUCH larger than their girth, but this should not be practiced as it can result in regurgitation (which can lead into a whole new set of problems). Also, it is important to avoid overfeeding your snake as this can result in excessive growth, pinheadedness, and drastically shortened life spans. If in doubt, it is better to slightly underfeed than to overfeed.
Happy feeding ;)
