Hey everyone!
I was just browsing through the Cages by Desighn website and was looking at the custom cage plans. I was wondering if anyone has ever ordered them and if they are worth the money. Are the plans easily readable and just worth the $22US I might be willing to shell out for them
Thanx

Try Greg West who is a member of this site. I think he will sell plans for a custom enclosure for $20 CDN.
I don't know if he has that up on is site yet but just shoot him an E-mail.
His site is http://www.cornelsworld.com

I can do that size. I really need to get on the ball and update my site. I am having someone do my site and it is almost done, but need to get my gallery page organized. Send me an e-mail if you would like. That size can be made, but just so you know, nothing over 30" is going to fit through a door.

i have seen the cages by design plans and they seem like they would be farly easy to follow.
My plans that I sell come with plans, cut lists, materials required, tools required and a 3d rendered drawing so that you know what it should look like. Send me an e-mail if you would like more information

I see your dimentions, what are you planning to house in there? What kind of top do you want?
Is it going to be a glass, acrylic or wire enclosure?
It's not hard to draw up an enclosure, heck, it isn't even that hard to make one as long as you have the proper tools.
I'm off sick for the next little while (I think), I would be glad to write you up a list of materials that you would need. It'll make the day go by a little faster.
Let me know.

I ordered plans from them what seems like a few years ago. I found them a little confusing, with not a whole lot of detail. I found it easier to draw my own and go from there.

Its hard to write up plans that will be helpful for everyone using them. I have made a rough copy of some plans for now and will be adding around 50 detail drawings to make sure that they are easily understandable. Im going to get my fiance to go through them after I am done to see if she understands them and thinks that she could beild the cage. I would think with 50 details you should be able to follow them. If I remember correctly, Cages By Design's plans comes with about 6 pages of material - I dont remember if they showed details or not.

If you buy pre-made plans, then theya re not really custom ;)

It reall depends on what you consider custom plans.
To me Pre-made plans would consist of a rectangular shapes with nothing out of the ordinary. If I already have cage plas for 4' X 2' X 2' cage, then to make a 4' X 6' X 2' I can modify the existing plans to suit that size of cage. I would consider a custom cage to be something with a base and a canopy, maybe a bow front, hinged doors as opposed to typical sliging glass doors.
