Oh blessed day...the Oilers have traded Janne Niinimaa. Anything more than a bag of used socks that they got in return is just a bonus because he is the most over rated player in NHL history.
Woo Hoo
Lets not forget you guys lost Anson Carter too :( Must be a pretty tough day for Edmonton fans. Sitting in 8th spot with Dallas in the first round on the horizon and they give up two players like that. It doesnt make sense to me. Hopefully they can get passed the 1st round. On a side note, The Leafs picked up Housley and Gilmour. Leafs are looking promising now!!!

Just like last year, I'm hoping for Edmonton. But once they lose to Dallas, I'll cheer for Ottawa! ;)

lol Tim, well you wont be able to cheer for ottawa either because there going out just as quick! ;)
In all honesty, Ottawa is the only team I (as a Leaf fan) am worried about this year. They have a great team, full of skill and they have the Refs on their side. That may sound like whinning, and well it is. :D Last time they played the Leafs they scored on 4 of their power plays and 3 of them were full 5-3 on PP's. Thats just not right.. But Ottawa could be be playing, Montreal, Boston, the Isles or even the Rangers. So you never know what might happen.!!
mike i agree, the only player worse than niinimaa is jonus hoglund! uhhg
I'll throw Hoglund And Reichel's name in that hat full of crappy players :D Don't know why the Leafs held on to them. Once Domi and Tucker are back, Hoglund will end up the odd man out.
It's great to see Dougie back! He wasn't happy in Montreal and I know he'll step up his game for the Leaf fans. I like Hously and Nolan too. LOOOOoooking GOOOoood! :D

Edmonton got some big players back as well though(size). When we end up playing Dallas we will need the size. Can't rely on one player to score all the goals(Carter)

And the LEafs also go Glen Wesley, IMO the D they needed to be considered legitimate, bearing in mind the other moves they've made to date. Thanks Carolina Hurricanes! Hopefully Quinn can stay healthy ;)
yes, but ANOTHER sad day for Calgary as we lost to you lol.

I don't think the Oil will miss Carter...especially when it comes time to sign some other players. Carter & Niinimaa accounted for something like 20% of the salary budget.
Isbister...all the way.

Oh ya...Toronto picks up Gilmore & Housely....ha ha ha ha ha ha
Why don't they sign Gordie Howe...
At least with the senior’s discount they can save on flights & meals.
LMAO Big Mike. I have to honestly say though, these were smart moves by Quinn. Housley will help the younger d-men out in the long run. Such as Berg and Jackman. As for Gilmour, we all know what he is capable of, and coming back home to play in Toronto can only mean that he will do his all to help the team in anyway. Just think the top two lines the Leafs can put out there now game in and game out. Eric, fear the Oil?? 2 goals in what was it, under a minute?? Sundins 1000th point, and walk away with the 2 points :D . By the way, where did you guys get that kid Ales Hemsky?? He looks promising!!
Lordy, I'm the typical ugly, ignorant American. Here I am thinking, there is no Houston Oilers anymore!! Totally forgot about hockey. :joker:

Ya Matt,
Hemsky sure does look good. He and Smyth look like they have some chemistry.
Hockey is more to us than football is to Americans....it's like herps to the people here...it's an obsession
