i have an incubator that is a styrofoam cooler with water in the bottom and an aquarium heater in it, and it does a good job of heat and humidity, but i need to know one thing....when i'm incubating the eggs i'll put them in a tupperwear container or something inside the incuator......but should the containers have lids on them? or no lids...or should i poke holes in the lid?
always have the eggs in an escape proof container,
we always have tight fitting lids on our egg containers, we don't poke holes in the lids or anything.
we check on the eggs every few days and that alows for enough air exchange
hope this helps

I put two 1/2 inch holes in my egg container lids. However, I have the ambiant humidity at 85-95%. High humidity incubators can have more holes than low humidity incubators.
