I am a long time lizard keeper who is looking into getting a snake. Preferably some kind of Boa. As my knowledge of these creatures is limited, I am reaching out for help.
If anyone could provide me, with a fairly comprehensive list of good beginner Boa's under 5 feet at thier adult state, I would be greatly appreciative. I would also(if possible) like a good link to tips or "how to's" on captive care for the particular species.
Thank you in advance.

If this is your first snake and you feel it must be a boa and you want something under five feet then you can't go wrong with Rosie Boas. They make great first snakes and great boas period. They stay small and are docile. They like it fairly dry so you won't need to worry about humidity and they can live their life in glass tank with out any problem. A Hog Island Boa is also a small boa closer in appearance to what you may picture when you think of a "Boa Constrictor". It will be a much larger then a Rosie but should still stay around 5'. Much more expensive though. Just do your homework check out pics of what you like find out what it is and how to care for it. Learn all you can about size, longevity, and cage requirements and then in the end find something that is right for you.
Good luck,
Trevor
