Well I posted awhile ago about my black Mexican King (picture on your left) we had recently got, biting himself, being crazy when the tank was moved, or anyone even moved near it, biting every time when handled after a few seconds.....all because he had been fed in a tank for three years prior to me recieving him. I was worried he'd hurt himself.

Well he is making progress! As I stated before, we now only fed him in a tub, and pick him up out of the tank using the same gloves, and a hook when its feeding time. It took up until about one week ago for any imporvment to happen. And yesterday we actually were able to take him out, with our/his gloves, and hold him without a bite the ENTIRE time! Yay! We only kept him out about ten minutes though...but wow, this from what it was before! (biting the glove and constricting it right away for up to a half hour before letting go!!!)

I am happy he is coming along! It was hard caring for him knowing everytime I wanted to change his paper, or water he'd bite me then hold on for such an extended period of time. (ya it doesnt hurt i know, but after 15-30 minutes of him biting bare skin and sqeezing it gets to be annoying for sure, especially just for a water change!)

anyways caio

I'm glad to hear he is improving!

I understand what you are going through.. Dealing with myal most 7 feet Rock python that is one of the most vicious snake I ever met is not easy .. but I find it fun!

Its an adrenaline rush just to clean his cage!

Only problem is mine is not taming down .. oh well...

Best of luck

I know, I feel lucky I am dealing with a "mean" little kingsnake, instead of a mean BIG snake. I have been bitten a few times by big guys, pythons and boas, and this little kingsnake must be joking with his little teeth. haha
