Hi I am new to this forum and would like to tell my experience with my Jungle Carpet Python. He is a 15 year old male and I have had him since he was a baby. He stopped eating a couple month ago and I thought maybe it was because of breeding season because my female has done this before. He had no nasal or mouth discharge so did not suspect a respiratory infection. He was acting more lethargic so than normal staying under his heat emitter most of the time. I took him to the vet Monday and she opened his mouth and he had bubbles at the back of his throat and was diagnosed with a respiratory infection. He go his first antibiotic shot and needs 5 more shots a week apart for each. Tonight he ate a med rat, the first antibiotic shot made a huge difference. I wanted to share my experience because he had no signs of a respiratory infection except lethargy.
