Hello everyone,
Snakes are a very dangerous reptile. For many it was an obsession. There are many types of poisonous and extremely poisonous snakes. As we know snakes often live on land. So do not know that under water, snakes can breathe?
Thanks everyone.

1. There is no such thing as a poisonous snake. Snakes are venomous. Poison must be inhaled or drank, whereas venom is injected.
2. All snakes, terrestrial, arboreal or aquatic, all breath air. They cannot breath underwater but can hold their breath for extended periods of time.

There is one species of poisonous snake. Rhabdophis tigrinus. (It is also rear fanged venomous but I don't believe the snake's venom is categorized as being of concern to humans.) Has a gland on the back of it's head and produces the toxin only when it has a certain species of toad available as prey. They are very pretty snakes but I don't think they are available in the pet trade.

There's an old saying that goes"if the snake bites you, it's venomous, if you bite the snake, it's poisonous". Of coarse this isn't entirely true as you can drink snake venom without having any issues as long as you don't have any cut's in your mouth(I wouldn't recommend it though). Plus only the tiger keelback is poisonous. The "toxin" in the snakes glands isn't dangerous however the venom can produce serious reactions and even death.
