Hi!

I recently picked up an Amazon coastal house snake. The person I got it from told me it feeds on small frogs and small brown anoles. I’ve tried many times to get the snake to eat an anole to no avail. This snake is about 1/4 inch in diameter and about 20 inches long, a juvenile. Does anyone have any experience with feeding these guys? I want to try frogs but I’m having a hard time finding any that are small enough. Snake seems otherwise healthy, extremely active, basking and hiding regularly, lots of climbing, healthy scales and clear eyes. Thank you!

Try live mice. Try other things too

You could also check out Reptilinks. I believe they offer frog and lizard scented products.

When I get my carpet python she was live fed. She was 2 month old. Si I decided converting her to unfrozen food. I have bought rat pinkies, but she refused eating many times. Then I got quails - the same result. I roped quail leg to a thread and pull it to imitate quail was alive. I did it several times at night and it worked. Then she started eating at night in complete darkness without pulling a thread.
