The male was an import but tbh prob the best looking import i have ever seen as far as health goes. Super clean scales, great weight, and a huge appetite if you told me it was CB I would believe it.

ETBs are such pretty looking snakes. I like the balance between white and green in yours.
Do they tolerate handling at all?

Ty chairman! tbh i dont even wanna say they're defensive but extremely reactive to their heat pits. The female has never struck at me but she turns her head at me whenever i come in from the side where her heat pits are. I back off before she gets the chance to do anything. Pretty much the same with the male but he has struck at me a couple of times. The CB baby hasnt shown any signs of aggression and tolerates my handling which im super happy about. I would like at least one i can take out and show off.

Id still say though theyre super chill compared to a mean ATB that will strike at you even if youre not close.

Yeah me too. And they feel so different compared to the adults. Like velvet. I wish they kept the red.

Isn't there a locality of ETB that keeps its juvenile coloration into adulthood? I remember hearing about one several years ago, though I'm not sure what happened to them in the hobby. (It may have been an ATB locality.)

Not that ive heard of. I have heard of some being born green and obviously they keep the green. Then theres anaconda phase which is born with darker patches rather than white and it keeps that. Atbs dont really go through a drastic color change like etbs or gtps. They usually just gain more pattern as they age but keep the same main color their whole life.

But there are some morphs of gtp that keep the yellow. I dont think its local specific though.

Gtps. No blue emeralds yet as far as ik. Ive seen some with blue spots or blue tinting so maybe something to work with in the future.

the only problem with finding the blue ones are you have to wait till they're almost adults because of the colour change and by that time they cost a pretty penny
My wife and I used to keep and breed both subspecies of ETBs back in the 2000"s. Now we only have one northern female left.

CB emeralds really arent bad if you work with them. I have been handling my male import as well and hes really been tolerating it. He use to strike at me but has really calmed down. This baby is super sweet and has never struck at me.

Good to hear. We definitely believe in handling snakes and working with them
One thing I learned about enclosures is to always have front openings. Top opening enclosures are an invitation to getting bit. Approaching from above is "instinctively" like being preyed upon. We handled all of our emeralds, not like wrapping them around our necks, but taking them outside to the "jungle gym". It gave them great motivation to poop! Especially with the misting from the hose.
The blood was from a mouse she just ate btw.
I hope you are feeding F/T? An emerald that size should be eating small rats.

The adult female is eating live. She will mot accept ft just yet. Her feedong response has gotten much better though so i think she will eventually end up accepting ft. Ive tried very hot and at night. I have yet to try pre killed though. One thing i was sughested to do is offer live then replace it with a ft. Now that she is no longer hesitant to feed for me even during the day this might just work. And shes eating adult mice. Think i should move her up?

So far no issues with poop or urates. Never been so happy to see poop and yeah mine are all in front opening enclosures. 2 in pvc and the baby in an exoterra. Will get a pvc when bigger.
For adult and sub-adult, I made acrylic enclosures. Clear in all directions. I believe that helped a bit in calming them down. Had no effect on feeding, cleaning and mating. As far as feeding, I preferred small rats for adults. The only exception was a large adult, female basin. She got medium rats. She also gave us one of the largest litters we ever had.
