I have one of my bp in a 55 gal tank, plenty of room! Right before him I had a nile monitor in the tank...and I had a glass piece cut to make a portion of the tank a pool for him, and never got around to it before I made him a new home. So I was just wandering what you all thought about making a small pool for a bp how shallow should I keep it. is there a fear of drowing in someting 4#deap?

The pool would prolly be take about maybe a 1/2 a foot to a goot of the lenght of the take witch the take is 4' long so no biggie and the glass piece I had cut is 6" tall and would prolly fill it about 4-5" with water and give him plenty of rocks in the water.

Just wanted to get some of your all thoughts~

My first thought is cleaning. You will want him to drink clean water so the water would have to be changed very often. Not too mention any time he "messed" the water.

Just changing the water would not be good enough to keep it clean because bacteria would still grow there. It should be sanitized.

Also, balls do not require high humidity. It could even adversely affect their health.

IMO...not worth it.

Good point, just had the piece cut and did not really want to waste it :)

maybe use it in another setup somewhere?

4" is fine for a pool, Ball Pythons are excellent swimmers, however he probably wouldn't get much use out of it as they hate the water  If you do go ahead with it, as Mike said it will have to be kept very clean. I don't think you would have difficulties with excess humidity in a tank like that, but check the levels before you put your snake just to make sure ;)
