Dear friends,

I have a bit of a situation on hand. I have a custom built 4x2x2 pvc enclosure, I purchased an 80 watt RHP for it, and had everything set up correctly with my proportional thermostat, I let it sit for a while but the temps never got above 70... So because I hadn't done enough research BEFORE hand, I did some more and figured out that I would need a 120 watt because the 80 was not powerful enough. My only problem now is that the 120 watt RHP is huge and I'm concerned that there will not be enough of a temperature gradient for my lady to be comfortable enough. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Try the 120 watt RHP without your reptile in it. See what kind of temperature gradient it creates. Experiment with different temps.
What reptile do you have?

How cold is the room? 80 watts is overkill in my 4'x2'x2's. I used 120 watts in my 6'x2'x3's, with a space heater to keep the room warm, otherwise I needed a 100 watt CHE to help out.
