Not sure if anyone knows what this might be. After my female Timor python shed last week there was a small area where the scales had turned white. They don't appear to be damaged, just like the colour has been bleached away. I've had snakes lose the odd scale here and there when shedding in winter and the humidity has dropped too low, but this is different. Any ideas?

I've had that exact thing happen to a boa constrictor once! it vanished after few sheds and both me and the vet had no idea what it was.

Thanks! I was only able to find one other instance of something similar, on a carpet python forum. They said the same thing, that it returned to normal after a couple of sheds. It’ll be interesting to see what happens!

I read something happening with a BP that had a very heavy shed and came out greyscale until another shed. Could be possible that somehow that specific spot wasn't ready to come off or maybe it was just thicker for some reason.
