Hello,
I recently adopted a rescue red tail and have some concerns. I have had a boa before(rainbow boa) but I just want to cover my bases.
The new red tail is about 7 months old, and housed in a 20 gallon long tank. I've only had her 4 days, and she initially moved around alot, but now she stays out in the open in one corner and doesn't really move or use her hides. From my experience she seems healthy, I was just wondering if this is typical behavior for a red tail.
Humidity stays around 65-70
Cold side stays around 75-78
Hot side stays around 85 with a hot spot of around 90

Any night time movement?
High traffic area?
Looking in at him a lot?
Substrate?

And it "could" be normal for that snake? Like us they have different personalities IMHO.

Aspen bedding substrate, she's in a low traffic area as well. And the only time I really check on her is from across the room because I thought me looking in at her so often would stress her out. As far as night time movement I'm not sure.

I'm not sure about nighttime movement.
Substrate is Aspen bedding
Not in a highly trafficked area and honestly the only time I bother her is to mist her tank 2 times a day.

Not every boa likes to roam as much, some explore their tank and once they're done they just settle in a nice spot. Doesn't have to be weird.
