I have a 5 month old Ball Python and he took a massive dump in his enclosure. I picked him up to clean his enclosure and he also had a horrible smell. I used a warm, damp paper towel to clean him and also some diluted chlorhexidine solution.
The smell got better but there is still a faint trace of it on him. The enclosure now smells fine because it is clean, but are there better ways to bathe a ball python and get the smell of feces off of them?
I read that any smell goes away after they shed. Open to advice and suggestions! Thank you!

If it's that big of a deal for you during handling then give the snake a lukewarm, shallow bath. I don't know if any soap is safe for snakes though.

Dawn soap is wildlife friendly.

That said, and as previously alluded to, snakes don't really need baths. I will rinse mine off in the sink with lukewarm water on occasion if they've made a mess, but only for handling purposes.
