Hey! I got a ball python Monday night- I got him locally and he came with his same hides and tank and is acting normally and doesn’t seem stressed. I haven't handled him at all- have only even opened the tank to clean his water and have only gone in the room he’s in to turn the light on/off. The previous owner said he’s really good being handled. Do you think 2/3 days is long enough to wait before handling him a little bit (nothing crazy but I’m dying to get a good look as his pattern)? Or should I wait till he has a successful feeding (I’m planning on trying to feed Friday as that was when the previous owner fed him and said he’s a really awesome eater) thanks!

If you want to take him out for a few minutes to get a better look it won't hurt. Just keep it short and sweet.

But from there, I would definitely refrain from handling until your new guy is eating consistently.

I generally recommend get a meal into a snake then begin handling. I'd go ahead and offer food tonight instead of waiting, unless you want the Friday schedule to continue.
