Hey, just wanted to show an update of my bioactive enclosure for my kingsnake, Mango.

I've got some springtails and Armadillidium vulgare "Punta Cana" isopods in there for cleanup. So far, Mango hasn't bugged the plants too much besides climbing a bit in the umbrella tree.

Also, Mango finally shed unassisted (two pieces). Every other time I've had to soak him to get a complete shed. So changing up the substrate from aspen to mostly Reptisoil has seemed to help.

Anyway, I'm really enjoying it and hope it continues to work.

Hey PanUzasny,

Is this enclosure Melamine? I have a store bought enclosure thats made of melamine, or something similar... or is your enclosure glass?

Jeff,

My enclosure is a 40-gallon breeder that I luckily picked up for free. It is made of glass and I'm pretty sure it's a store-bought, standard 40-gallon breeder.
