Hello all!
Thrilled to find this forum!

Wondering if anyone can help ease my mind.

We’ve recently gotten a baby Lavender Banded Cali King, probably a couple months ago now.

All signs say she’s doing well. Behaves normally, very well tempered, sheds fine, eats voraciously and seems to “play” a lot.

Our ac on the floor she lives on is out, and as we are saving to get 2 new units next year, are trying to suck it up this summer.

It’s 80- 85 F in the house.
Her heat lamp and heat pad were shut off today for concern it was getting too hot for her; thermometer was shoring 85 in the middle of the tank, I dared said 90ish on hot side and 85 on cool.

She never has shown a sign she’s hot, and never soaks. Usually she sleeps, burrows or hangs out in the vines on one side like a tree python.

Are we being paranoid about the temps being too warm?

Welcome to the forum. Is your heat source regulated with a thermostat or dimmer and are you measuring the temps with a temp gun? My kings usually had a hot spot of 86-88 and an ambient temp of 78-80. They did really well with those temps.

Ty ty! Glad to of eventually stumbled my way here. Lol

There’s a full spectrum light, a small heat lamp over the hot side and the heating pad below is controlled by a thermostat.

There’s a little analog thermometer in the middle of the enclosure, there’s the probe for the thermostat that’s on the bottom, above the element but under the substrate, and I also use a good infrared.
