Hi, I'm thinking of getting a baby red tail boa, and as of right now, I have a 30 gal tank and a 20 gal tank that I believe my baby will be comfortable in for atleast long enough for me to build them a huge enclosure.

My question is, what can I build with?

I'm thinking of a large wooden frame, with plywood on the outside, install insulation in the frame, than use linoleum on the inside, walls and flooring. But I'd be putting a substrate in there that would help keep humidity up. For the top, I'm thinking a simple wire netting cover with hinges and locks would do? Help with ventilation, and let the snake be exposed to natural lighting, of course there would still be a light in the cage, but I sometimes sleep in and the light wouldn't get turned on until I woke up.

I'm thinking one of the bulbs that emits heat, I forgot what calit's called, but it doesn't create light.

Another thing I'd be wanting to do is give the snake a good water hole to chill in, lol.

So what do you guys think?

Nice elaborate enclosures are nice to look at, clean simple enclosures are healthy. Just make sure your willing to tear down and disinfect whatever you build once a month. I kept all my guys simple so cleaning wasn’t such a chore.

I wouldn't think my design would be a chore to clean, the enclosure is going to be a average rectangle with insulation hidden between the plywood outside and Linoleum inside.
