Anyone know of anybody who breeds Rough Green Snakes? I can't find anything BUT wild caught!
Thanks,
Teddy

I'm interested in this as well - all my searches have also come up with only wild caught.
Good luck. I don't know of anyone who regularly breeds them, although CB clutches do pop up occasionally.
I can think of a couple reasons why people wouldn't - they stress easily and can be somewhat difficult to keep alive if not given the right conditions. Additionally, they won't bring in a lot of money as they usually don't have high selling prices. Further, while they are beautiful and interesting to keep, they are probably a little tougher to sell since they don't like being handled and are known to be a little more delicate in captive settings.

I've kind of thought about trying to breed them. I have a paludarium set up that I had one in. It, unfortunately, refused to eat and died. It was, of course, wild caught, and I got it at a show. I'm thinking I might try to find a young one locally to replace it. Hopefully one that hasn't been shipped from god knows where and lugged around to reptile shows will be a little less stressed.
Maybe if I breed them, I'll hype them up as rare CB Rough Greens and sell them for $200 each to drum up interest in them and create more breeders. :D They're beautiful display snakes. Unfortunately, much of the reptile market is people who want to play with snakes.
