Hi, I'd like to introduce myself & my son to the group. We haven't got our snake yet, in fact it's not been born yet, due anytime soon. We're going to get a hypo boa soon, we don't know much about snakes so came here for some needed advice & guidance. I'm reading up what I can find, if anyone has any links that will help we'd be grateful. My son is 3.5yrs old & is so excited as he really loves snakes.

The best advice I can give is reseearch, research, and research some more. Also setup your tank/tub a few weeks before you get him/her. If you do this you can make sure that your temps and humidity will be at the right levels. What size tub/tank are you going to start with?

Welcome to the forum, Ezra! We're glad you're here.

Once you've taken the snake home, give it a few days or so to adjust to its new cage before handling it. This is something your son should understand as well. Also, when you first feed it, the snake may not strike at whatever you're feeding it immediately. That's okay. I know it happened when I first got my gray-banded kingsnake, Lincoln.
