Hey, I'm new to the reptile hobby and I hope to learn all I can from those who have been doing it longer. Feel free to post any tips you may have.

Hey!

I would say that one of the most important things in the hobby (and in any hobby really) is research. You can't be too prepared for whatever species you want to get.

Another important thing is not to give up. I've made many, many mistakes, and several times I've come close to giving up on the hobby. But just charge on. Everyone makes mistakes.

My main advice for anyone looking to keep snakes:

Remember some of these snakes get to be 200-300 lbs. PLAN AHEAD! and do your research on the husbandry of each species. Also NO HEAT ROCKS! and my last piece of advice is there are many different species a beginner can take care of. Don't just get a ball python cause thats what everyone else has.
