I was handling Ruby at one point and she was making this audible whistle like loud exhale at times. I had shifted how I held her (she inherently coils around the wrist so easy to handle her one handed, although I do have a second hand ready incase she needs it.) and somewhat guided her to uncoil around the wrist and it seemed like it lessened a tiny bit but she still made the noise. I examined her nostrils and I noticed one looked somewhat off.

Is this a sign of RI or just her hissing at me?

(I am leaving her be for a while to test this theory as she is the "vicous" one of the two that I have.)

I'll post the pictures below in the reply

I tried to get the clearest pictures I could with my phone. The nostril I noticed looked odd was her right I believe

Is it possible she's going into shed, has some bedding in her nares, or damaged the edges somehow? RIs are usually paired with mucus, drooling, and red irritated gums.

My carpet python has started whistle too. She was in shed a week ago.
I have read it can be caused by lack of vitamin A.
