My son got a Kenyan sand boa from a young lady who no longer wanted the snake. Last night the snake had babies. I want to make sure that I do everything I can to help these little guys along but to be honest I'm a little over whelmed. I'm getting plastic shoe bins for each and using paper towels as bedding. I've located some pinkie mice (frozen) that I will be picking up shortly. The only thing I can seem to find is what do I use for heat? The heating pads are rated for glass not plastic. Should I buy a heat lamp?

No, you should use heat pads, just make sure to provide plenty of insulation with paper towles over the pad itself, or you can buy a reptile temp. Controller, which is more efficient.

Heat pads should always be connected to a controller or thermostat.

Never use an uncontrolled heat pad, especially when accompanied by flammable materials.

You can also get a piece of ceramic floor tile material and place the heat pad under the tile and the tub on top of the tile. This creates a more gentle hot spot that should protect your snakes and the tubs from over heating.
