just wondering some of your guys feeding schedule. i always fed my BP 1 or 2 mice a week until she was a year i started doing 2 mice a week. well lately she’s been having hunger strikes so i thought maybe it was that time of the year. her one was 2 months but that was due to different mice and trying to switch to rats. but now recently i’ve been doing 3 mice every 10 days. i do 3 because they’re pretty small and she’s over a year n a half. i tried switched to rats and even frozen rats but she won’t take. so for right now i think 3 every 10 days is a good schedule. opinions? i’ve done 3 mice every 10 days for 3 about 3 cycles now and she’s loving it from what i can see.

I'm starting to wonder if the snake should advance to slightly bigger mice. If the next size
prey appears too big, worry about it later, but for now, be careful not to overfeed the snake.
As for me, I feed my gray-band 2 mice a week, though I'll eventually feed him more than that so HE can advance to the next prey size.
My BP, Nagini, is approximately 8 months old (weight is just under 300 grams) and she gets 1 large (23-27 ish grams) adult mouse every 10 days unless she's in shed. She's taken a meal that was 35 grams, but after that I waited 2 weeks before her next meal.

nice name, mines luna (: but the mice i get are adult but to my eye they are so small compared to a rat. shes still not ready for a small rat she gets to intimidated by it, but the mice she pounces on so i’m thinking 3 every 10 days will be good for her for awhile, they’re small to where it wouldn’t be over fed. i’ve been meaning to weigh her & the mice but i need a bigger scale for her because the previous one shows overload with her. but sounds like you got it dialed in. for the last 9 months she’s been on almost 2 mice every week with a week skipped here or there. she’s picky only takes small white mice.

I think it depends on how large the mice are. If a small rat is too large then two (20-30g) adult mice should be plenty. Three prey items sounds like a bit much imo. I feed my critters every 5-7 days their 1st year, every 7-10 days their 2nd year, and every 10-14 days or more thereafter. I know you said your BP will only eat small white mice. I think I can disprove that theory. I believe any healthy animal will eventually eat if they get hungry enough. Some may take longer than others but the hunger ALWAYS wins. :)

I feed very young snakes more often, usually once a week with an appropriate sized prey item. As they get a bit older, I reduce the frequency to one meal every 10-12 days or so depending one how they respond at feeding time.
Mostly weekly for the colubrids. The slow growing corn hatched last year is still on pinkies and eats 2-3 times a week and the smaller of the 2 northern pines won't take large prey so I throw him a second mouse one of the times I feed the baby corn. My rosy boa will go through phases. She'll take food 4 times over 1-2months, not eat for 3-4months, and do it again. She was fed only pinkies for her first 3 years and won't take bigger than a hopper despite her growth explosion since I got her and feeding up on adult mice for awhile until she was no longer starving. She still gained size through several 4month breaks after taking only a few hoppers so I just go with it.
