Hi everyone, my name is Jase and I am 30 years old from the southwest England.
Me and my partner love animals, have various different pets from a Staffie to a cat and a hedgehog, we love our pets, my Mrs recently got a milk snake 2 months ago and I really enjoy having a snake as a pet so I decided I wanted a ball python which I picked up Saturday. So far do good except I think i might of done a few things wrong after reading on this forum like not to handle him straight away etc hopefully I haven't caused him any harm, I believe him to be 3-4 months old but I fell in love with him as soon as I seen him.
Anyways lots to learn, I wish you all well.
Many thanks
Jase

Personally I think that faunarium would be too small.... whats the dimensions to it?

17" length 12" wide and just under 8" in height, personally I think its too small too, just after advice really.
Is it better for him to have a light? What vivs are better as the milk snake in a 4ft by 14" wide and 14" height..... too big for him?

I'd give that royal either a 3x2x2 or a 4x2x2 viv personally, and id use a ceramic bulb to heat the enclosure... I don't keep royals myself so hopefully someone else can be of more use.
No id say that viv is fine for the milk, as long as they've got plenty of cover to feel secure then you'll be fine.

the milk snake don't need plenty of covers she roams around wanting to be seen lol she does have plenty tho, 2 hide a branch to climb which she loves, a little branch, the plastic plant/bunch of leaves, shes very happy with her new life and home with us.
I just want my ball too have the same but I know they love small spaces except mine just seems overly curious and doesn't hide much while I'm here but probably does in the day, he seems well happy with the new purchases I made today and now I have a temp gun I can confirm temps are good.
thinking of getting a 3x1.5x15 so its the same dimensions as Octanes just a 1ft smaller in lengh?
I just want him to have the best life ever
Many thanks

He will eventually need bigger most likely, so you may as well just go for it n get the bigger one tbh..
They like small places to hide during the day, but they also bask, and are active during the night. So, they benefit hugely from space. Keeping them in a small box, basically a permanent hide, is not a proper way of keeping any snake.. Eventually you'd like at least 4x2x2 with hides, clutter, branches, good lighting setup (P. regius can see UV, and will seek it out), and so on.

oh don't worry he will be getting a new home soon, not liking what he is in now, much prefer a basking lamp than a heat mat.
hoping this weekend to get him a bigger home so ill update you.
