Hi, I am new to this forum and still learning about corn snakes. I am trying to plan out where to put my tank and the best spot is near a window. It is next to the window so not directly in front of it. During the day it doesn't get much direct light so I was wondering if my snake would be ok there? Thank you.

I have never owned a corn snake, only boas and pythons. I'm speaking solely if it were one of my snakes I own.

I would have no reservations keeping a snake near a window as long as there was never the possibilty sunlight could hit the cage. Also if it were an old single pane or drafty window I may hesitate also.

Monitor temperatures, if it is not directly in front of the window then you should be fine.

As long as sunlight isn't going to bake the cage and raise the temperatures severely then you'll be fine.

Direct sunlight going through glass is not safe, I've always been a fan of paper aquarium background on the back and sides.
