After the recent housing change, I finally managed to move some of my snakes with me. We only managed to squeeze 4 snakes in the spare room (plus Demigod's tank that's been here for awhile), but I'll be trying to Keep Tirel as well.

Someone busted the doors on Cloud's T12, luckily he was unharmed, but now I have to buy new doors before I can move that cage. I still need to rehome Cloud and River, I'm going to look for a reputable rescue if I can find one close enough to me or find a way to make it out to I've found so far.

Here are some photos I took, and I'm probably going to feed them in a few days, once they've had time to warm up a little.

Crona has grown some since the last photos I took, I should be moving him to weaned rats here soon.

Plus a few more. Some are from last night, some are from today when I was double checking to see if they were all warm enough. They were all hugging their heat last night, but are acting more normal now.

They're all a tad bit dehydrated, but not bad at all, and the ones that have shed, shed in whole pieces.

Howl is also here, but his tub has bungee cords on it, so I didn't want to disturb him too much. I can grab some pics of him soon, once they eat.

They all look super cute!

They are looking great after all they've been through. If snakes can feel relieved I bet they are. It's good that you managed to hang on to so many of your crew. Hopefully Cloud and River will find a good place to land soon.

Bud, Draco and Sanji are all doing very well here and they settled right in. :)

Thanks everyone, I'm pretty relieved myself. XD They're not in bad shape at all, they've gone relatively little time without food, though longer than they normally would have.

I hope so, too. I really wish I had the room for everyone, but that room is pretty tiny.

Good to hear, and hopefully they eat for you here soon, and we can get those tests done. :)

Very nice pics BSG. I read your post on your move. Quite the ordeal and you are to be commended for your dedication and efforts to ensure the best for your snakes.

Thanks everyone, I decided to go ahead and feed them since the room seems to be staying warm. Nymeria got a prey increase to small rats, and Crona got a weaned rat. Nymeria was conditioned for fasting last winter, so she shouldn’t be bothered by the time off. Their last feeding wasn’t quite as long ago as I thought, either. The longest most of them went was maybe 90 days, most are at ~75 days. So about the normal amount of time I fast my adults/subadults.

Crona hasn’t been conditioned for fasting yet (I start feeding half as often at 1.5-2 years old and completely fast at 2.5-3 years), but he had to have eaten something recently because I remarked on him having a bulge last time I saw him, and he’s the only one to have defecated in a month or two.

Boy, glad things are panning out for you and the reptiles. I know it was disappointing to have to part with some of the animals Thanks to SD for the help as well. So hopefully you can manage the collection and get back up to where you want to be again. Best wishes for a Happy and prosperous New Year. Grats!

As an update, Crona, Howl, and Tirel are all currently in shed. Leaving me pretty much with only Nymeria to handle. Makes me kinda miss having more snakes, but maybe in another week or two they'll be done. >.>

I got my replacement doors for the other T12, so now I just need to figure out how I'll rearrange everyone. I'm pretty sure I'll put Nymeria in the T12, but I may also put Howl in there and put her in his tub. I just think she'd benefit more from it even though he's bigger. I think I'll also go with the cheaper T10 here soon just so I can put someone else in a bigger enclosure ASAP, but later upgrade them to a T12, and use that T10 for the garters or something, so I'll probably get it with a divider. Nobody is in real dire need of an upgrade, but I can get rid of 2 tubs that way.

Dominika trying her hardest to fit in a jumbo RBI hide. Just a little too girthy to fit unfortunately. She's getting better at it, though, so maybe she just hasn't gotten the hang of coiling yet.

She continued to look dry, so I put her back on EcoEarth, so maybe those lines will disappear. For whatever reason, these two my females are more prone to the dry look than my males or Tirel.

And here's some of Howl since I didn't share photos of him initially. He was looking real dark after feeding him, and he went blue about a week later.

Howl about a week later, in shed. I like the almost burned look he gets when in his dark phase, which is accentuated while in shed.

Nymeria is currently in a small tub, since her normal 105 qt tub is being commandeered, but she'll be getting an upgrade here soon. I also switched her back to EcoEarth as she has some of those bent scales as well. Crona and Howl seem to be adequately hydrated.

She's curled up, so you can't see it too well, but the small rat left a decent bulge that took almost a week to dissipate, so I'll be keeping her on weaned a little longer. The small rat will likely spark a growth spurt, so she won't be on them long, though.

The tub meets the Length+Width requirements, but just looks so cramped to me.

https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4599/38858108154_8915d12078_h.jpg

I opened up the blinds over the window during the day, and she immediately came out to explore.

That piece of wood will be too small for the T12, so I'll likely give it to Crona after this.

All very cute!

Thanks!

As an update, Crona and Howl shed a few days ago. I'm going to look around for another digital gram scale so I can weigh everyone again after defecations, as my old scale's buttons stopped working completely. It was so old I had to basically pound the tare button multiple times for it to finally work, so it was only a matter of time. lol I've had it at least 4 years, and it was a cheap one.

Howl shed completely, but Crona had a couple small stuck pieces (but his shed was otherwise whole), so I'm going to put him on EcoEarth like Dominika and Nymeria.

And Howl from yesterday. Flash brings out the two-tone look to his sides a lot better, but the non-flash photos are truer to color.

Nymeria is also looking good. She's holding onto her reds a lot better than these pictures lead you to believe, but if she's looking this faded in photographs, I have a feeling she'll continue to fade with age. She's still one of my loveliest snakes!

https://78.media.tumblr.com/253d585b42fe782fabcc14d5a539193e/tumblr_p2hqv4fuAo1sjttato3_1280.jpg

I'm not sure how well it will show up in these pictures, as Tumblr resizes photos and reduces the resolution, but in the original photograph you can see her faint iridescence. It's more of a pink/blue color than the green/blue of darker snakes.

https://78.media.tumblr.com/6096822dd44bdbedb39d71183838e336/tumblr_p2hqv4fuAo1sjttato2_1280.jpg

Demigod is also making leaps and bounds. I was really getting worried about his health before, but I think a mix of the brumation and some extra food, and he's turning around really fast. He's only eaten twice, but he's put on a noticeable amount of girth that I wasn't able to facilitate before the brumation. He was also getting very odd spots on his head, and his scales were...idk...slouching? But all of that has drastically improved in just 2 feedings. I'll do a before and after once he's completely back up to speed.

Wow I just read back a little on what happened, sorry to hear all this BSG... Your boas still look beautiful and I hope everything will get back on track for you.

Thanks everyone! There are some opportunities that presented themselves...so fingers crossed. In the meantime, I figured out a way to squeeze Cloud and Tirel here as well. So Cloud and River will be hanging out in their 6' enclosure with my mom until I can order that temporary T8 while everyone else is here with me. I may even get two T8's so I don't have to worry so much about floor space, and then upgrade both to the T12's later when those snakes get bigger. Then use the T8's for garter housing. There should be plenty of height while my boas are still small, though. :)

With only a few snakes at my mom's, I should be better equipped to handle the situation. Plus, my 6' enclosures are fully lockable, and the doors are nearly indestructible. I was just worried about finding someone to help move them (the basement is being rewired so the 6-footers can be kept down there), and we finally managed to get some help.

My new rodent shipment should be here later today, so everyone should be fed again, and Cloud and River able to get something in their bellies.
