I bought this hypo red tail boa the other day. Was sold to me a possible anery, just wanted opinions. I'm on the fence because I'm not sure being this is my first snake. Thanks in advance.

Is that possible het anery, or possible visual anery? It would be easy to tell a visual hypo/anery - called a ghost boa. If it's possible het anery, the only way to know is to breed it, but it's not important to know the hets of a pet.
That tail makes me think that it isn't even a hypo but it could just be the pic. Do you have any other pics to share?

Way too much black on it to be a hypo....

That’s ok then , we ain’t going to have to go to specksavers later😊😊
Yeah...looking at that pic on the comupter I am now confident in stating that it isn't a hypo...so to be honest I wouldn't rely on a single thing the seller told you, unfortunately.

Red tailed Boas have specific a Care requirements. They can be hard to keep as your first pet snake, if you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them.

Yeah, with the picture there it is neither hypo nor anery. It could still be het anery, though.

Nice pics, but still not a hypo. The hypo gene basically removes black from the colors, leaving reds, oranges, and yellows. While there may be some black like small flecks, it is very limited. As babies a hypo would have a creamy base with dark orangey/pink markings that darken to pumpkin and rust/terracotta colors. The baby you have looks like a normal with a slightly more pinkish tint. But normals come in different shades and tints without being a morph or her of any kind. It really appears you have been dooped. If it matters to you to have a hypo het whatever, you should reach out to the seller. If it doesn't matter, then just enjoy your pretty normal baby. It is a really nice one after all, just not a morph.

Normals are best anyway :)
As mink says so long as you didn't pay a premium for it being a morph I'd say just enjoy it.
Boa imperator are one of my favourite snakes and a joy to own...

I'm fine with a normal just guess I was easy bait for the seller

Is there a website or thread that goes into detail on the different common genes/morphs seen in BCI?
