View Full Version : Photobucket Replacement?
Since PhotoBucket now charges $399 for third-party hosted images :unibrow:, has anyone found a photo hosting site they're happy with ?
I've been using imgur for now but it doesn't have the complex albums and editing. Sucks. I've got 3 full accounts on photobucket from early 2000s and to get the previously nice and safe pics despite computer crashes I have to download each one individually past all the spam along with who knows how many messed up informational links are out there now. At least let me bulk download my own pics back to myself if I can barely even look at them now.

I pray for my own website hosting. Easy enough to do and means I'm never at the mercy of a third party company who may change their rules at some point in the future.

Ps. On imgur you can make albums and do photo editing, but it's a bit cumbersome and limited to some basic things (resize, crop, coloring, etc)
You can't make nested albums. Like I would have "snakes" and in that I would have "bull snakes" and in that I would have individual names for after I named them the same as the folder setup on my computer. In "lizards" I have "crested geckos", "anoles", "house geckos"... My guinea pig one is years complex with by the year, "past", some female only cages which were 9' long, the conversion from various beddings through fleece layers, and then the imported peruvian strain. I have 2 accounts with layers of dog albums covering various hiking locations and individuals. Nothing else seems to do that. You just make an album that appears on the front page for everything so the organization when you have 100s of photos of dozens of species and individuals in those species is not nearly as good. I was also using photobuckets red eye the most instead of separate software but also some blurring of background objects or personal info on tags, labels, or electronic screens.
